Tourist Board chief executive Alan Clarke says: “”Northern Ireland has traditionally done well from visiting friends and families, traditionally done well from business visitors although that is a reflection of the overall economy but the one area that we need to grow and get better at is our holiday segment.”



30% of visitors in Northern Ireland are holidaymakers, compared to 45% in the Republc of Ireland. 




There are a number of Titanic-themed events set for this year to commemorate the sinking of the ship in the Atlantic 100 years ago,  and the Giant’s causeway Visitor Centre is scheduled to open later this year.
