The guest was rescued with assistance from the Irish coastguard and his condition is not reported to be life threatening.
The MS Balmoral memorial cruise is set to retrace the journey of the doomed Titanic to celebrate its 100th anniversary. However it was delayed after leaving Southhampton yesterday due to gales and 30ft waves in the Irish Sea.
Despite the setbacks, the ship is still expected to reach the site of the Titanic’s iceberg crash off the coast of Newfoundland on 15 April 1912 in time for a memorial service.
The ship is carrying 1,309 passengers, the same number as the RMS Titanic, including descendants of the original trip. As part of its 12-night cruise it will sail across the Atlantic to New York, stopping at sites relating to the infamous vessel.
