No7 – Roger Milla’s goal celebrations (1990)
Cameroon were the surprise packet of the 1990 tournament, making it all the way to the quarter-finals, led by 38-year-old cult figure Roger Milla, who had come out of retirement to play. Most memorably, Milla scored twice in extra time against Colombia in the round of 16, celebrating each goal by approaching the corner flag with a strangely suggestive, two-step samba. It became one of the most distinctive goal celebrations in football and, in 2006, Milla was voted the greatest African footballer of the previous century.
