Maralinga Tours is run by indigenous operators and has attracted 400 bookings since February.
Maralinga Tjaratja manager Peter Clark said that radiation levels are nothing to worry about.
“Radiation levels are comparable to what you would experience in a capital city like Adelaide or Melbourne or Brisbane or Sydney and we continue to monitor obviously that element of the experience,” said Clark.
“But were increasingly finding people are visiting because they’re attracted by the outback experience, the nature experience, the wildlife experience, bird watching and a whole range of factors.”
Bookings for next year are looking good.
