Well, this is a new one.
Two sisters, 24-year-old Vanessa Miranda and 18-year-old Steffany Miranda were both charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in the Florida Keys last night. The funny thing is they were both in the same car at the same time.
According to the Huffington Post police deputies noticed the Miranda sister’s Volkswagon driving erratically over a seven mile stretch in the early hours of the morning and tried to pull them over.
Here’s when things get a little strange.
Instead of pulling over to the side of the road, Steffany (who had been driving) stopped in the middle of the thoroughfare. Then – in clear view of the deputies and their dashboard camera – Steff and her elder sister Vanessa swapped seats!
Oh man, that makes me laugh.
When approached by the police to give a breath test Steffany flatly refused. Vanessa submitted to two tests, blowing heady numbers of .127 on her first attempt and then (somehow) a slightly higher .129 percent on her second go-round. Was she nipping from a hip flask in-between tests or something?
Needless to say the old switcheroo didn’t work for the Miranda sisters. Seeing as the keys were in the ignition and the engine was running when the two swapped seats, both have been charged with DUI.
