For most of the UK, the hot weather will continue into the weekend with temperatures hitting 29C today.

Meanwhile, Heathrow is preparing for snow after last winter’s fiasco which saw the airport grind to a standstill the Saturday before Christmas.
Airport operator BAA said Heathrow will have three times as much equipment and more staff to hand to deal with snow this winter.
New measures will include tripling the number of snow clearing vehicles to 185 and increasing staff available to clear snow from 117 per shift to 468.
