More than 200 of the girls were taken from their school on April 14, and the militants have released a video of around 130 of the girls, suggesting that they could be swapped for jailed members of the group.
Around 30 experts from the US, including members of the FBI and defence and state departments, are currently in Nigeria to help find them.
According to the BBC News website, US state department spokeswoman Jen Psaki has confirmed that experts are examining the video released by Boko Harem to find clues leading to the girls’ whereabouts.
The group’s name, which means ‘Western education is forbidden’, are known for their views on girls going to school. In the past, they have said that girls should not receive an education, and should just get married.
