The white Peugeot van was ablaze when fire crews attended the scene, with London Fire Brigade saying: “Crews have brought the fire on Tower Bridge under control.
“One fire engine attended the fire on Tower Bridge, it was brought under control at 9.32.”
The van was headed northwards across the Thames, with severe disruptions caused. Both directions are now open, though.
