- For breakfast (and insults): The Elbow Room Café (560 Davie St) who claim “food and service is our name, abuse is our game.”
- For pizza: Try one of the fabulous thin-crust pizzas at the Yaletown Brewing Company (1111 Mainland St), washed down with a Yaletown lager.
- For a vintage diner experience: The Templeton (1087 Granville St) boasts all the trimmings with a jukebox, frothy milkshakes and chequered floor, but in a modern twist, there are plenty of healthy, veggie options on the menu.
- For a view: Tuck into some tapas at the Salmon House restaurant (2229 Folkestone Way) in West Vancouver.
- For novelty value: Eat your dinner in a trolley car in Gastown’s Old Spaghetti Factory (53 Water St).
- For seafood: It’s not cheap, but the west coast seafood at Sandbar (1535 Johnson St) on Granville Island is worth splashing out on.
- For Chinese: Chinatown

- For beer: Try locally brewed ales are the Yaletown Brewing Company (see above) and the Granville Island Brewery Co.
