Dorothy has a history as an adrenaline junkie, so her family’s birthday present to her was a tandem base jump from Perrine Bridge in Twin Falls, Idaho.
She performed the jump with professional base jumper Sean Chuman before landing safely back to earth with a parachute.
When the jump was over, Dorothy claimed it didn’t last long enough.
“It was too short!” she told KTVB.com. “I don’t know why it went down so quickly, but that was alright. There’s nothing left to do but just live now.”
On her last birthday, Dorothy chose to travel on a zip wire through Idaho’s Snake River Canyon.
Her relatives sprung the surprise on her this year after she had decided on a quiet birthday.
“I was thinking of going to jump out of a plane but then I found out it was too much. So then I said forget it, I’ll just have a very calm birthday,” she told KTVB.com.
Dorothy previously became an overnight sensation after she appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. On the show, she played the harmonica and said she enjoyed sewing as well as adventure sports.
Base jumping involves jumping from fixed objects and using a parachute to land safely.
The base stands for the four categories people can jump from. They are: buildings, antennae, spans (bridges) and earth (cliffs).
