In the amazing footage (scroll down for the video), the dolphins can be seen heading closer towards the shore on an otherwise idyllic sunny day.
As they land on the beach clearly distressed, the locals swoop in to help by grabbing the dolphins by their tails and drag them back out into deep water. The whole operation is completed in just a couple of minutes much to the delight of the crowd who whoop in approval.
Without the speedy intervention of the fast acting beach bums the dolphins would almost certainly have perished.
The action took place on Brazil’s Arraial do Cabo beach, a small town just over 100 miles east of Rio De Janeiro. The area is popular with divers and boasts crystal clear waters.
