The eagle’s fall from grace occurred at Oral Roberts University (ORU) in the US state of Oklahoma, in front of a group of students enjoying a display from a professional bird of prey handler, according to Gawker.
“It was a bit shocking to see, but we’re thankful the eagle is OK,” a spokeswoman for the university told local paper Tulsa World.
“When the time came, we’re not sure what happened. It flew around the room and then hit a window.”
The normally graceful bird had apparently become disorientated by the patriotic chants of the crowd, who started chanting ‘USA! USA!’ at the sight of the national animal in flight.
Stop sniggering.
