Dean Potter, from New Hampshire, USA, walked across the 40m of the gorge at a height of 1800m above sea level.
The wire on which he was perilously perched was no more than two centimetres thick and differs to tightropes, which are taught, by being slack and loose, allowing for bouncing which makes the walk even more difficult.
Without the use of a safety harness either, Dean’s death-defying high rise escapade was made all the more impressive by the fact that he decided to listen to some tunes while he made the crossing. Legend!
