Filling in on the show, Kelly may find herself a more permanent fixture after handling the autocue stunt like a champ and immediately plotting her revenge.
As the sport report closed with Chelsea’s Europa Cup final win, Kelly didn’t sound entirely convincing as she read, “How good are the cookies … there” – her realisation of what happened coincided with Stefanovic and co-host Lisa Wilkinson pissing themselves laughing.
“See, I read everything on the autocue, it’s like Anchorman,” she laughed.
“As I was looking I was waiting to see some cookies pop up.”
Soon after Kelly took to Twitter, first acknowledging her embarrassment, the perils of morning TV, then calling on suggestions for how to get the Gold Logie winner back.
