Brit actor Cumberbatch, owner of quite possible the most preposterously fantastic name in Hollywood, stars as Wikileaks head honcho Julian Assange in the first trailer for Dreamworks’ The Fifth Estate.
They have an agenda,” one US government agent asks, to which Laura Linney replies: “Yes, truth, justice – the American way.”
The film looks set to get under the skin of the Wikileaks debate, asking whether Assange is, as the movie’s strapline asks, a traitor or a visionary.
The Fifth Estate is set for release early next year, and co-stars Carice Van Outen, Stanley Tucci and David Thewlis.
