Kyle Dyer, a veteran TV presenter, was crouching down to stroke Max, an 86-pound Argentine Mastiff, when the dog lunged at he and bit her on the face.
KUSA-TV swiftly cut the camera and switched to a segment about the weather. The station says the attack was not broadcast, but it later released a short clip of the bite.
Mastiff dog Max was on the show after the TV station caught footage of him being rescued after falling through ice. Both the dog’s owner and the firefighter who rescued him were on the morning show to chat about what happened.
Dyer’s is said to be recovering from her bite in Denver hospital where her condition is “fair”.
The dog is being held by animal control officers and his owner, Michael Robinson, has been fined for a dog bite violation and not having given his pet rabies vaccinations.
