Riham Said, who was interviewing Yousuf Badri on Egypt’s Al-Nahar TV, was riled by the fact the cleric was fine to talk to her without her hijab off air, but not when they were being broadcast, claiming, he was just “putting on a show for the viewers”.
The journalist tore off her abaya during the live broadcast as he shouted at the cleric for his demands of 1,000 Egyptian pounds to appear on the show.
The cleric retaliated by threatening to “close the channel down”, causing Said to sign-off to the camera, stating “It is very unfortunate that people like this are peddling our religion,” before storming off the set.
The journalist’s feisty attitude has divided Muslims’ opinion. What do you think?
