The devastating 1987 storm then caused £2 billion pounds worth of damages across the south of England and was the worst on record since 1703.
But in an ad for a Brixton fish restaurant with the slogan ‘Fish like never before’, the weather man gets to rewrite history and correct his howling blunder. Fish may never be forgiven for telling the nation there was nothing to worry about – but he at least gets to go back and adjust broadcast in his favour.
In the new version he warns the public “to stay indoors because we’re in for quite a night” then walks off set saying “‘Well that could have been embarrassing…”
