The transformation of Stratford and the Olympic site has been captured in a fascinating time lapse video by Newham Council.
With the jubilee out of the way and London now focused on the next big celebration – the London Olympics – the video demonstrates the mammoth undertaking it was to develop the area, was once considered a grimy corner of London.
The overview shows landmark venues, such as the Olympic Stadium, Olympic Village and Aquatics Centre sprout from the ground.
The Stratford International station blooms before your eyes, as does Westfield Stratford City, Europe’s largest urban shopping centre.
