The car emerges as if from nowhere through the foam and takes two police officers by surprise.

The foamy deluge blew inland from the ocean covering several Sunshine Coast beaches following cyclone Oswald. In some areas the foam was reported to be up to a metre deep.

Witness of the freaky foam Michael Bell told news.com.au “It was unbelievable. We walked down there just as they were closing the road. That car was probably parked under the foam and they’d had to drive it out.”

Scietists from Griffith University Centre for Coastal Management explained that the foam is created when especially powerful waves force air into the water during storms.

The scene was described as “like a snowstorm,” by one surprised resident.
