Airphil Express flight 969 from the capital city, Manila, narrowly missed crashing into nearby houses when it overshot its landing at Kalibo Airport on the island of Panay.
One of the flight’s 140 passengers was recording footage of the flight on his mobile around 10:30am local time, and caught the plane’s shaky landing past the runway.
The Kalibo airport, frequented by tourists heading to the nearby resort island Boracay, was closed shortly until the plane was towed out, said civil aviation authority spokeswoman, Floramel Joy Fongsong.
No-one was injured in the incident, airline officials said, and the cause is still being investigated.
