The skit features a butler Muppet and one looking like Dame Maggie Smith’s character, the Dowager Countess of Grantham.
The countess is bemused when her order of tea, crumpets and steak-and-kidney pie fail to stay in their appointed places – because their world is upside down.
When the butler points out to her that the problem would be solved if they were right side up, the countess dismisses him sharply.
“Don’t be ridiculous, we very well can’t be right side up in Upside Downton Abbey … it is simply not done.”
