The three notorious escapees have been lost for four days, one of them being a young joey in the mother’s pouch.
Wallabies are not typical of the region, they are in fact primarily found only in Australia. Austria and Australia are sometimes confused and even to this day Australian mail is sometimes mistakenly delivered to Austria.
Austrians themselves are known to hate being mistaken for Aussies, with their tourist souvenir shops selling tees with the slogan “No kangaroos in Austria”.
Considering that wallabies are just smaller roos, they may just have to think of a new selling point as these beauties run wild and free through the alpine terrain.
