So it's not just the new hair. Manchester United superstar Wayne Rooney is attributing his terrific start this season to the popular zumba dance craze.
The 25-year-old England star took up the popular fitness routine over summer. He got hooked on the workout, which includes salsa, Bollywood and bellydancing routines, after his wife Coleen introduced him to the craze.
It turns out that the in-form striker is throwing shapes three times a week in private lessons at his home. Other celebrity devotees include J-Lo and Madonna.
It appears to be paying off; Rooney has averaged more than a goal a game for Man Utd so far this season.
A source told the Sun: "Most older players have taken up yoga, but Wayne finds it a bit boring. He likes zumba because it's energetic.
"He reckons the extra workouts have been a major reason behind his sensational form this season.
"He feels really sharp and puts it down to the workouts at home. And he's learned a few dance moves, too."
Rooney didn't play in United's draw against Stoke on the weekend after tweaking a hamstring. Perhaps a little too much zumba, Shrek?
