That is how cheap it is to fly with Firefly, a subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines, which you will have come across if you have ever travelled in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore or Thailand.

And it has been named the world’s cheapest airline in a new ranking of budget airlines by WhichAirline.com, which also revealed some of the world’s cheapest airlines to fly to Australia.

AirAsia, which offers Australian routes, ranked third in the world with an average flight price of $A72.

Tigerair came in eight, averaging $A91.50.

Jetstar also came inside the top 20.

The list of international airlines ranked budget carriers based on averages from more than 3,220,000 flight prices found on the flight comparison site from June 2014 and later.
