The great South African climate means you can visit any time of the year. Summers are hot (temperatures can reach way over 30˚C) but usually the days end with a thunderstorm to cool the evening air. The Western Cape’s winters can be a bit grim, though, with lots of cold wet weather. Peak holiday seasons for the locals are over Christmas and Easter.
