The bad weather has affected several southern states, as it sweeps its way south-east.
Storms have caused blackouts in Tasmania, where one person died as a result of injuries sustained when a tree fell in high winds.
The front has also affected Melbourne, where the Yarra river is bursting its banks.
Wind gusts of up to 139kph have been recorded in parts of Victoria and more than 30,000 homes and businesses across the state have been affected by power outages.
The SES is warning people to stay indoors and stay away from trees, powerlines and anything that could be potentially harmful in strong winds.
