British/New Zealand born Chelsea O’Reilly was on the receiving end of her racist neighbour’s rant.
Czech-born Petra Mills was drunk when the abuse took place in Macclesfield, and she called O’Reilly a ‘stupid fat Australian’.
Mills marched over to O’Reilly’s house and unleashed a drunken attack at Mills, she was fined £110 for the attack and another £200 for being violent towards the police officer who was arresting her. She also incurred £500 worth of court fees.
Mills denied the charges against her.
Both neighbours had lived next door to each other for 18 months. The night of the racial attack “She said she would kill my dog,” explained O’Reilly to the Daily Mail. “Bizarrely she then blew raspberries at me like a child,” continued O’Reilly.
Mills explained to the court: “Yes, I shouted at her but it had nothing to do with racism.
“I did not used the word Australian. I used to live with an Australian person. She was very nice.”
Mills and her husband no longer live in Macclesfield; they now live in the Isle of Eriska, Scotland.
