The lady in question was part of a group of tourists visiting the Eldgja canyon, and they made a brief stop near the canyon park, where she changed her clothes.
However, upon boarding the bus again, her busmates failed to recognise her – and the word began to spread that someone was missing.
The woman failed to spot the description of herself, and before long a 50-person search party was pulled together to comb the local area – which the poor woman joined.
At 3am, some bright spark realised their mistake, and the search ended fairly swiftly after that.
TNT has two questions – why was there no was of registering all the passenhgers’ names, so a register could be taken, and how could the ‘missing’ lady not recognise a description of herself?
