Tommy Reilly (A&M)
19-year-old Glaswegian Tommy Reilly first came to our attention in January when he won the Orange Unsigned Act competition.
The song that won it for him was the poignant, stripped back Gimme A Call.
Yet with Bernard Butler on production duties Reilly’s debut album Words On The Floor has more bells and whistles than a Mardi Gras parade.
There are plenty of bouncy tracks about unrequited love, but little of Reilly’s original charm is on show here.
