The world’s highest ferris wheel opened today in China on the top of the a 450m-high (1480ft) tower.

Set at the top of the Canton Tower, otherwise known as the Guangzhou TV Tower, in Guangzhou, the capital of the southwestern Chinese province of Guangdong, the wheel is made up of 16 see-through pods, which hold a total of 96 passengers.

The ferris wheel can resist 8-magnitude earthquakes and Beaufort scale 12 typhoons.

The transparent pods enable passengers to enjoy a 360 degree view during the 30 to 40-minute ride. 

Meanwhile, Las Vegas plans to build the world’s tallest Ferris Wheel at 550ft. The London Eye is 443ft tall. The wheel will be situated in Caesar’s Palace hotel and casino.
