X Factor’s Cher Lloyd has hit out at critics, saying she will prove her worth at the first live finals show this weekend and dismissing claims that she has an eating disorder.
Cher’s glory after being put through to the X Factor finals by Cheryl Cole has been overshadowed by the public protest about Gamu Nhengu being axed. However, the Cheryl look-a-like has warned viewers not to expect any more tears.
“It was very unfortunate. I was ill at the time. Come Saturday they’ll think, “She picked herself back up,” she said, referring to her breakdown during auditions at Cheryl’s house.
“That’s what I’m going to do. I’m a fighter. I’m tiptop now and can’t wait to show them all what I’ve got.”
The 17-year-old also slammed claims that she is starving herself, saying: “Eating? Of course I’m eating. I’d be pretty scared if I didn’t eat. We have Nando’s on speed dial. I’m fine.”
Katie Waisell has echoed Cher’s sentiment, vowing to prove she’s earned her place in the X Factor finals. “I just can’t wait to show the public and voters that we all deserve to be here,” she said.
Waisall acknowledged that things have been crazy since getting through to the finals, telling reporters, “It’s really a whirlwind.”
