X Factor contestant Kitty Brucknell may quit the show after she revealed that she was being bullied by the other housemates.

She has now been given her own room by producers in an attempt to defuse the situation.

Reports claim that Kitty has clashed with other contestants on numerous occasions, although she has complained that they simply “don’t understand her”.

She has also been on the receiving end of some sick online abuse and Facebook campaigns, which have prompted anti-bullying campaigners to get involved.

Sherry Adhami, communications director at BeatBullying said: “People say even more hurtful things online because they think there are no consequences for their actions.”

Kitty has admitted that she has made mistakes, such as sitting down on stage in the first audition, but maintains that she was not playing to the cameras.

She said: “I just want to sing and perform. For me it’s all about the music.”

Staff at the X factor have confirmed that she has been moved to a private room for her own welfare, stressing that activity in the house is monitored at all times to ensure the well-being of contestants.
