X Factor winner Matt Cardle will focus on recording his debut album before getting involved with girls, the Essex-singer has promised fans, revealing that he’s “not thinking about sex.”

When asked about his future as a celebrity, and all the attention he now can expect from lovestruck girls, Matt told the Mirror:

“It is pretty shallow and I am wary of why they are like that. I am not thinking about sex.”

“I am not going to let things get in the way,” he continued. “I’m really going to knuckle down. I want the songs right, the album right and my career right before I think of anything like that.”

But don’t think that Matt has turned into a munk just yet … He already regrets not going further with Rihanna during their Saturday night performance.

On ITV’s This Morning show presenter Phillip Schofield said: “That duet was the one that had pure energy … I thought you were going to snog!”

Fellow host Holly Willoughby agreed saying: “I thought so too! I was like, ‘Snog snog!’ watching at home!”

Matt laughed and admitted: “So was I!”

Matt is now hoping to get a Christmas No.1 with his debut single When We Collide, a cover version of Biffy Clyro’s Many Of Horror, released as a single CD on December 15.
