Now in its sixth season, the Your Shot competition offers young guys and girls a shot at the big time – to become DJs capable of playing at the best clubs and festivals all over Australia.
And the best part? No DJ experience is necessary to enter; 6 weeks full DJ training is provided. With each contestant learning the basic skills behind DJ’ing, the organisers say it’s truly a life changing experience for all involved.
Contestants will get the opportunity to be crowned: ‘Your Shot Champion’ and play international DJ sets at a choice of venue: Snowbombing (Austria), BPM (Mexico), Groove Cruise (USA), VH1 Supersonic (India), Chasing Summer (Canada), or Your Paradise (Fiji); as well as becoming local stars with their own sets at Stereosonic 2015.

Last year, the event saw crowds of over 12,000 attend the state events, and registrations closed early, due to a whopping 7,500-plus applications received in less than three weeks – more than X Factor and Australian Idol.
This time around, Your Shot will take 82 new contestants from each state and put them through a six week full DJ training course at the exclusive ‘Your Shot Academy.’ Once armed with the skills, they will perform a set at a two day ‘Your Shot’ event in their state.
The event will showcase some of the best headline and resident DJs from Australia, as well as the best in up-and-coming talent. With around the clock sets from all DJ hopefuls, each contestant will give it their all in the hopes of taking home the title of ‘Your Shot Champion’, along with a host of life changing prizes.
Registration closes 15 May 2015 but could close early due to full capacity… so be quick.
