The Queen’s granddaughter Zara Phillips is set to marry rugby star Mike Tindall this summer, Buckingham Palace has confirmed.

Zara and Mike have set the date for July 30 at Canongate Kirk.

The groom’s best man will be fellow rugby player Iain Balshaw.

Tindall proposed to 29-year-old Zara just before Christmas at their home in Cheltenham.

The couple met in Sydney during the 2003 Ruby World Cup after being introduced by Prince Harry.

Tindall was part of the England team that won the 2003 Rugby World Cup.
