Rick Genest – aka Zombie Boy – shot to fame thanks to his full-body tattoos, which include a grinning skull inked over his face.
He’s starred in Lady Gaga’s Born This Way video and modelled for Mugler but this week Zombie Boy made the news after landing a spot as the face of L’Oreal’s Dermablend Pro make-up.
Designed to show how well the company’s concealer does its job, the advert begins with Zombie Boy covered in tattoo-covering make-up, looking like an average bloke with a couple of piercings.
After staring moodily into the camera, Genest pulls off his t-shirt and begins to scrub himself with a sponge.
Rapidly, ink appears and when the model takes a flannel to his face, the recognisable Zombie Boy appears.
The clip then plays backwards in time-lapse and shows Zombie Boy being made-up to hide his tattoos.
The campaign features another of the fashion industry’s most talked bout models, Andrej Pejic, famous for his androgynous looks.
Attention seeking? Yes. But these pictures are pretty cool.
