The comedian’s comedian, whatever that means, is back at one of his favourite London venues fro a month-long residency in which he is testing and trialling new material for his fourth series of Stewart Lee’s Comedy Vehicle. But with such a master craftsman’s control over his words and his performance, you won’t be in for any ramshackle, half assed shows here.

One of the most celebrated stand-ups of all time – see the aforementioned description of him as given him by The Times years ago – Lee is known for many things. For his 90s partnership with Richard Herring and their Fist of Fun and This Morning With Richard Not Judy telly shows (if you’re just off the boat and landed on these shores then you may have missed these nineties classics – go Google!), his antagonising of the easily ‘offended’ with The Jerry Springer musical, and his numerous solo shows, tours, articles, even novels. A talented bugger, and a very, very, very funny one. He’s got a whole month of dates so don’t be the fool that misses out.
