How has your life changed since leaving The Only Way Is Essex?
Oh my god, literally, before TOWIE, I was a beautician in a little salon, I loved it. I’ve always loved my job. I never thought about being in the public eye. TOWIE came to me and said: ‘We’re doing a show but we don’t know how it’s going to be, but would you like to try it?’ I was like: ‘I don’t know.’ Essex hasn’t got a very good name. But I thought, ‘No, I’m going to have a right laugh’, and I had loads of banter. It got filmed, and the next day everyone recognised me. It was a blast. Then I became an underwear model for Caprice. I’m the face of Bra Queen underwear which is in Tesco, I’ve got my own clothing line, I’ve got my own fake tan and eyelashes and my Salon – all from TOWIE.

You are following a similar path to Katie Price. Is she your idol?
Do you know what, I wouldn’t say that I idolise Kate. People think we’re similar because I was with Claire [Powell], Kate’s old management. She was the best in the country. I’m very different to Kate. I’ve never done topless modelling. I’m beauty trained in everything, I’m not a horserider, I play table tennis.

Would you ever do topless modelling?
I would never, ever do it. It’s never even come into my mind. I love doing my underwear modelling because it’s really classy. My
friend, she’s a topless model and she loves it. But, you know, it’s really not for me.

Were you disappointed your reality show, All About Amy, was axed?
Everyone was saying to me ‘your show’s got axed’, but it was only an eight-part series. It wasn’t like they cancelled it because it was so bad. I loved making it. People got to see how much of a family person I am. You see me being a businesswoman, not just vajazzling Harry [Derbidge].

Tell us about the DVD Get Fit In 30 Days
It’s amazing for everybody. It does start quite easy and works its way up to being difficult, but you do see me in pain, you do see me working hard. There’s me doing squats, press ups, sit ups – a hundred repetitions of all of them.

Tell us about your clothing range.
I’ve got 80 pieces in my spring/ summer collection. When I launched my first website, it crashed because more than 100,000 people were looking on it in the first five minutes, which was amazing. I wanna bring out a summer collection for absolutely everybody: mums, young girls, even nans. My nan would love to wear some of the stuff that I’ve just brought out.

Any other projects in the pipeline?
I’m launching my own perfume in September. I go through a bottle a week, so I can’t wait to have my own and literally not even pay for it anymore. I’ll be spraying it all the time.

What’s been your most extravagant purchase so far?
I bought myself a Range Rover. I’ve worked hard, you know, and I bought it. When I drive it, I can’t believe that I’m actually driving a Range Rover. I said to my friend the other day: ’Oh my god, I can’t believe I’m driving a Range Rover.’

Knowing Peter Andre, what do you think of Australian men?
I really want to go to Australia, like really. When I was doing TOWIE, I was on the phone to all the radios and they were like: ‘Amy, you’ve gotta come to Australia, you gotta meet all the good-looking men.’ Dunno, I could meet an Australian.

What’s been your most embarrassing moment in front of the cameras?
Probably the first big celeb event I went to. I fell over flat on my face. It was so embarrassing.

What’s the strangest thing you’ve received from a fan?
I receive lovely letters and pictures and presents from my fans, I haven’t had anything really strange to be honest. I am quite lucky.

Essex girls have a reputation for being promiscuous. How accurate is this?
I think Essex girls are just glamorous.

How do you cope with all the paparazzi that follow you?
At first I found it really strange. The first time it happened to us, my mum nearly called the police as she didn’t understand why two men were sitting outside my house. Now I am used to it, and I think they’re really nice.

What’s your personal routine like?
I’m really good at going to the gym, and that’s why I wanted to bring out my fitness DVD. Although there are days where I eat rubbish, I’m quite good. I used to hate fitness, but training for my dvd has made me feel much better now.
