What does the Next Big Thing tour mean to you?
HMV Next Big Thing is going to be a great opportunity to showcase our new material from our forthcoming album to our current fans, as well as the industry representatives that this festival specialises in accommodating.

What are you aiming for with the Barfly show then?
We’re looking to get our new album out in 2012 on a label that believes in us and can give the record the shot it deserves and this show is a key element in making this dream a reality.

Have you got any special plans for the show?
It’s a big deal for us. We’re going to pull out all the stops visually, bringing in our own sound crew and lighting engineer and stage set-up but the main thing is the music.

Will it be a mix of old and new material then?
We spent 2011 writing and recording the best album of our career and this gig is the show where the album is really going to come to life. And there will, of course, be a couple of oldies thrown in there for the die-hards! We can’t wait!

Sonic Boom Six play London Barfly on Feb 9 as part of the HMV Next Big Thing Tour.
