If you need one reason to book a weekend at BEC Arena in November, Satyricon’s Sunday headline set is it. The Norwegian black metal band are playing Damnation 2026 as a UK exclusive, meaning this is the only date in the country. That fact alone settles the argument for a significant portion of the bill’s audience before the rest of the lineup is even considered.
Damnation Festival 2026 runs across two days, Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November, at BEC Arena (Bowlers Exhibition Centre), Longbridge Road, Trafford Park, Manchester M17 1SN. The festival describes itself as Europe’s Largest Indoor Extreme Music Festival, with a capacity of approximately 6,000 across three stages. It has held that position seriously enough that Kerrang! called it Europe’s biggest indoor metal festival when it returned to Manchester in 2022.
The headline bill Cult of Luna, the Swedish post-metal band, headline Saturday. Satyricon close Sunday in the UK-exclusive set. Below them, the top tier runs Carcass, Triptykon, Igorrr and Crowbar, a combination that prompted organiser Gavin McInally to describe the lineup to Backseat Mafia as ‘obscene’, and to observe that every one of the six top-billed acts could headline in their own right. He is not wrong.
The reasons this year is different Gorerotted are reuniting specifically for this festival. Their appearance is billed as their only UK show and their first live performance in over a decade. That is the kind of thing that gets announced and then quietly never happens again, so treat it accordingly. Separately, Medulla Nocte will perform their 1998 album A Conversation Alone in full, a full-album set from a band whose profile has grown considerably since the record was made. The wider bill still includes HEALTH, Walls of Jericho, Eyehategod, Wolves in the Throne Room, Holy Fawn, Car Bomb, Weekend Nachos and MØL, among others, and further acts were still to be announced as of August 2026.
Tickets and timing Weekend tickets start from £160 plus booking fees via Skiddle, the festival’s official and exclusive ticketing agent. A Loyalty Bird Weekend ticket was listed at £155 plus booking fee. An instalment plan is available if the full amount is a difficulty. No single-day ticket was listed on the official Damnation site or on Skiddle as of publication; if a day ticket option exists, it has not been publicly confirmed. Buy only through Skiddle. Doors open at 11:00 each day, with the first bands on stage from midday. At the time of the April 2026 headline announcement, more than half the weekend tickets had already sold, and the festival was described as on course for a record-time sellout. That projection was made four months before the event.
Getting there There is no on-site parking at BEC Arena; the venue car park is used for food vendors, a merch tent and chill-out space. Street parking is available nearby. A Metrolink Park and Ride is a five-minute walk from the venue, which is the practical choice for most. The festival is a 14-plus event; anyone aged 14 to 17 must be accompanied by someone aged 18 or over.
If you are still undecided, the thing to skip is the wait. The bill is not getting shorter, the tickets are not getting cheaper, and Satyricon are not adding a second UK date.
