Party all summer!
our top picks of festivals this year
This year we’re highlighting the true festival vibes, not the soulless corporate shitty festivals which lack any sort of imagination. We believe the festival experience should be a true escape from the real world, not a reminder of how many c**ts there are in the world with hoards of insta’twats holding their phones up in the way of the performance! Skip the mundane and jump into our guide of the best true escapes from reality this year!
Good Vibrations Society
Pippingford Park Manor, Nutley, Uckfield TN22 3HW
5-7th August 2022
Another massive line up, and a good dose of wellness and soul revitalisation to go with it. Half way between Royal Tunbridge Wells and Brighton the Good Vibrations Society offers a perfect escape from London.
The line-up this year includes – Lola Young, Brand New Heavies, Gentleman’s Dub Club, Roni Size and the London Afrobeat Collective. The festival is great for families, and also includes wild swimming and guided forest walks. They are also famed for taking their sound very seriously, so expect crystal clear audio and heart thumping subs providing the best vibrations!
Boomtown
Pippingford Park Manor, Nutley, Uckfield TN22 3HW
10-14th August 2022
This one should need no introduction. The big daddy of raves, the colossus of chaos, the land of the unexpected, Boomtown’s back! Boomtown is (in my view) the most extraordinary world of escapism and imagination and sheer diversity that exists on the festival scene.
My words can’t truly describe what to expect from Boomtown, as it’s just too big to describe and it’s enormity guarantees a unique experience as it’s impossible to see it all. If you are to attend one festival, make it this one! It puts every other large-scale festival to shame.
With (in the most part) dickhead free vibes, this is one huge motherfucking party, a true tear up! It’s wild out there, so hang onto your hot pants and glitter the shit out of your tits, this is going to go off, big time!
In a super ballsy move this year, the team at Boomtown, said bollocks to line-up’s and stuck two fingers up at the corpo festival agents with their exclusivity clauses and underhanded talent management tactics. They decided that the experience alone was enough to promote. The line up is under strict embargo and will only be released just beforehand. This isn’t some bullshit move to hide their uninspiring line-up. I guarantee this year’s line-up will blow your mind!
Moovin festival
Whitebottom farm, Etherow Country Park, Stockport
26-28th August
Moovin festival is boutique in size, but has absolutely smashed it out of the park this year with an exceptional line up which includes – Orbital, Sky FX, Roy Ayers, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Louie Vega, Moodyman, Sugarhill Gang and Sister Nancy.
It’s location at Whitebottom Farm, is a stones throw from Manchester.
We Out Here
Abbots Ripton in Cambridgeshire
25-28th August
‘We out here’ is what I can only describe, as Lattitude for people who actually give a shit about music. It’s got a similar vibe, it’s clean and civilised set in beautiful parkland.
Founded by Gilles Peterson, so expect positive vibes from across the globe this is a fusion of Soul, Hip Hop, House, Afro, Electronica and Jazz. With artists like Mr Scruff, Quantic and
Tru-Thoughts main man Rob Luis, L’éclair and sound system heavyweights Channel One.
Lost Village
Lincolnshire
25-28th August
Expect the unexpected! The lost village is a truly magical escape from the real world, set in one of the most incredible locations.
Expect to find abandoned airplanes, derelict buildings, lakes and acres of woodland. It’s truly about the experience not just the music, but they have a massive line up with headliners Bonobo, Jamie XX and Tom Misch..
