Saturday, the main event

Boogietown, Apps Court Farm, Surrey
Keeping in the disco mood. This disco-soul-funk day party turns five and goes bigger than ever: five stages, its largest lineup yet, and Gloria Gaynor headlining the farm she played at the very first edition. Add Shalamar, Soul II Soul, Gabrielle, Boney M, Maxi Priest, Aswad andSoul II Soul and you’ve got the feel-good option. Riverside, sunny, multi-generational, exactly the vibe for a sunny weekend.

Kaleidoscope Festival, Alexandra Palace Park
Music, comedy and family fun with one of the best views in London thrown in. Gates at 1pm. Rudimental headline, with Groove Armada (DJ set), Black Grape, Roni Size and the Amy Winehouse Band on the bill, plus a comedy stage led by Russell Kane. A perfectly formed all-rounder.

Channel One Sound System BBQ, Camden Courtyard
When the sun is shining and the weather is sweet it’s time to skank to the Channel One beat. Roots and culture the way it’s meant to be heard, through a proper stack. Channel One bring their legendary sound system to Camden from 3pm, 18+. Reggae, dub and jerk smoke in the air. Low-key and heavyweight in equal measure. Big Up Mikey Dread and the Channel One crew, this one is going to be a vibe.

Mungo’s Hi Fi Day & Night, Fox & Firkin, Lewisham
When it comes to full fat sound systems, you are spoilt for choice thisa weekend, as the Glasgow crew set up their speaker stack for an eleven-hour marathon through sound system culture at Lewisham’s finest underground boozer.
