We have spoken to the experts to seek out the best riding spots in the UK. For those who like to get muddy we’ve got the top 5 trails in the UK.

1. Nevis range at Fort William

Nevis range at Fort William has to be at the top of the list as it offers some of the best trials in the UK. It hosted the world downhill championships last year so offers some pretty hardcore trails for more competent riders alongside some more obtainable trails for those with all the gear but no idea. There is also the bonus of some of the trails being linked via a cable car so you don’t even have to break a sweat on the way up! https://www.nevisrange.co.uk/bike/

2. Cannock Chase

Cannock Chase is in Staffordshire and has a wide range of trails for all levels of competence. If you’re looking to push yourself and develop better bike skills then this is a really good place to start. There are some really lovely flowing singletrack trails here along with more demanding downhill trails. It’s by far one of my favourite trail centres. https://www.chasetrails.co.uk/xc/

3. Epping forest

Epping forest is one of the best locations near London. It’s not very hilly so don’t expect big downhill excitement but it has really well thought out singletrack which flows well. http://www.essexhertsmtb.co.uk/mtb-trails/epping-forest.php

4. Lee Vally Velo Park

Staying in the capital, it’s worth mentioning Lee Vally Velo Park which has some decent purpose-built MTB trails. It’s very close to Stratford station so a great location if you live in London and want to keep it local. It also has some great courses to help you develop your skills.  https://www.visitleevalley.org.uk/en/content/cms/london2012/velo-park/mountain-biking/

5. Woban Sands

If you’re into big air, then Woban Sands is well worth checking out. It’s about an hour from London and has loads of jumps and miles of singletrack on offer. you need to get a permit to ride here, so check it out before you go.
