We’ve all heard of Zumba – the Latin-inspired dance workout craze that had everyone back in fluoro sweats and grooving to high-energy beats to shed the lbs, endorsed by celebrities like Ricky Martin and CSI Miami’s Eva LaRue.
Well now The Reebok Club has created Aqua Zumba, or Zumba in a swimming pool. Splash around (water resistance makes it harder) to a Zumba soundtrack for full-body toning, weight loss and some much-needed pre-Christmas cardio. The 45-minute-long classes combine Zumba principles with traditional aqua aerobic exercises and it’s especially good for working your core muscles and burning fat. It’s dancing for the less-coordinated and it’s a class for the exercise-shy – because it’s underwater, no one can see if you mess up the steps. It’s fun, lighthearted and much like working out at a pool party – definitely one of the better ways to get svelte for party season. The next classes are on November 23 at 12.15pm and December 3 at 6.40pm. Membership at The Reebok Club costs from £63.50 per month. Get on it and bust out your underwater moves. Fluorescent swimwear is optional.
