The mad-capped comic clown genius will be performing his trilogy of shows – Because, Becaves and Befrdfgth - this month.
If you have not caught (or been caught – Brown likes to ‘involve’ the audience) then you have no excuses for not witnessing the good Doctor now.
Doctor Brown (also known as American Phil Burgers to his friends) trained at the esteemed Philippe Gaulier clowning school (yup, a school where you actually train to be a clown – try telling that to your dad!) and has been threatening, stunning and beguiling audiences for years.
Part surreal absurdity, part menace, totally wonderful, he won the Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy award for Best Show in 2012 for Befrdfgth and it is not hard to see why. Don’t go if you are expecting straight stand-up, flowers that squirt water, but do if you want to experience a night like no other. Ten out of ten.
