Walking with the Wounded have organised an event called Walking Home for Christmas - and it's quite simple. Walk home, support their charity, and enjoy a free beer on the way.

Walking Home for Christmas is encouraging everyone to ditch their typical mode of transport and walk home from work on Friday, December 20 to raise money for Walking With The Wounded, a charity that supports the thousands of ex-military personnel who struggle to get back into work.

Walking With The Wounded is a UK-based charity which funds both the re-training and re-education of wounded servicemen and women with the aim of helping them find long term employment after they have left the Armed Forces.

To support the scheme, any weary travellers walking home will be entitled to a free beer and a chance to rest their legs should they visit any of the six Renaissance Pubs in Battersea, Clapham, West Dulwich and Kennington.
