Goth pop rockers The Cure play a trio of very special Christmas shows this weekend.
What goes better with Christmas yuletide cheer than big hair-ed goths? Anything? Robert Smith and co are pulling into town for not one but three nights at the Hammersmith Apollo and a clutch of Christmas shows that shall prove to be proper special indeed.
The band, who are entering their 39th year together, are known by many for their big hits – Friday, I’m In Love, Boys Don’t Cry - but what hits you when watching them live is how many hits they have had. The die hards will know each and every one by the first note, but those who perhaps are not so familiar with the band will find themselves asking, ‘Oh, this is The Cure too?’.
They’re also known for playing truly epic shows that take in everything from the aforementioned big hits to obscure album tracks and B-sides, and with new album, 4:14 Scream (their 14th!), due for release next year, you can expect these shows to have more than the odd surprise in store. Christmas has come early!

Where: Hammersmith Apollo, 45 Queen Caroline Street, W6 9QH
