The hottest young rising stars in the comedy world take to the stage at this year's New Act Of The Year show and awards.
There have been a whole host of ace comedy shows this month to banish the January blues, including Steven Fry’s new pal and Edinburgh Fringe wowing Alex Edelman (his Millenial solo show is still showing at the Soho Theatre until Jan 31), Doc Brown’s trilogy of recapping shows and Joe Wilkinson (still at the Bloomsbury Theatre to Saturday Jan 24). And let’s not forget Kiwi mime artist Trygve Wakenshaw’s mostly silent Kraken! But if you want to see who is going to be making waves this year as the new kid on the block then check out this year’s NATYs, or New Act Of The Year!
There are no fewer than 15 acts on this chock-a-block bill featuring everything from social commentary (Sean Patrick), impressions of a sort (Mikey Bharj) and character comedy (Cheekykita), also including ‘droll and literate, laconic Australian’ Nick Elleray (above), who will be vying for the judges votes to pick them as the rising star of 2015.
When: Jan 25 / 7.30pm
Where: The Bloomsbury Theatre, WC1H 0AH
Cost: £15
