Join the Fry High Club at Shackfuyu

Launched earlier this month at Soho’s favourite Japanese comfort food haunt, Shackfuyu’s Fry High Club is one all of London will be vying to join. For £15, guests will be served up four pieces of delicious buttermilk chicken in a crisp shichimi-spiced coating  with a side of the restaurant’s signature sweet potato imo fries with shiso mayo. To ensure guests will be flying high, the menu also includes a matcha and rum hard shake. Available all day every Monday, Shackfuyu’s Fry High Club offers diners the chance to get their fried chicken kicks in true Japanese style.

Dedicated fried chicken menu at Avenue

Launched last month and set to run until the end of June, modern American restaurant, Avenue St James’s, has gone back to its roots with a menu entirely dedicated to fried chicken. With something to satisfy all tastes, offering sweet, smoky, spicy and traditional variations of this classic American comfort food export, highlights from the menu include spiced chicken wings with blue cheese sauce and buttermilk chicken with waffles and maple syrup.

Korean fried chicken wings at Flesh & Buns

Fried in a delicious sweet and spicy Korean marinade and coated in sesame seeds, the chicken wings at Flesh & Buns are one of the restaurant’s most popular small plates and the perfect warm up for some gua bao. 

Chicken karaage at Sosharu

At Jason Atherton’s latest opening, Sosharu, fried chicken gets a sophisticated, Japanese make over from Head Chef, Alex Craciun. Marinated in classic Japanese ingredients including soy, sake and ginger, the chicken is then fried in a light batter to produce chicken karaage, served with salt and a refreshing squeeze of lemon juice.

Dirty Bones Fried Chicken

The Dirty Bones restaurants in both Kensington and Carnaby’s Kingly Court, are renowned for serving the best American comfort food, and the fried chicken is no exception! Guests can start with Hot Wings tossed in chef’s own Louisiana-style hot sauce, followed by a half or full pile of Crispy Fried Chicken in spiced buttermilk coating; Spicy Chicken Burger with baby gem, chipotle aioli and Dirty Bones sweet chilli sauce; or Chicken & Waffles: half pile of crispy fried chicken with freshly baked waffles and a shot of maple syrup. The fried chicken delights are also carried on to the Dirty Bones weekend brunch menus, with the Chicken & Waffles given a breakfast twist with the addition of a fried egg.
